Boyne Valley Food Series - Winner of Ireland's Foodie Destination 2016

The Boyne Valley, once the seat of the High Kings of Ireland, brings to you food experiences fit for any King.  Heritage and food have successfully combined to become Ireland's Top Ten Food Destinations in 2016.

With the very best of artisan producers, rich rolling farm lands and a new wave of food revolution in Ireland, the Boyne Valley Food Series offers an experience led calendar of authentic and animated food events across the Boyne Valley for 2017.  The campaign represents an array of food venues; farmers, producers, food service providers and restaurants who have come together as a collective in putting the Boyne Valley on the map for being a great Food Tourism Destination.

Events offer unique visitor experiences and a true sense of 'Place on a Plate', such as Guided Foraging Days, Producer Food Safaris, Restaurant Tapas Trails and Themed Food Evenings in unique locations and venues.  Events take place during the months of May to September with festive events also taking plaace for Halloween and Christmas.

In 2016 The Boyne Valley Food Series won the 'All Ireland Best Foodie Destination' from the Restaurants Association of Ireland.  Congratulations to all our talented local food producers and the many individuals who worked so hard to acheve this brilliant accolade.  ‘From Tapas Trails and Food Safaris to innovative strategies for growth and development they set the benchmark for food tourism in Ireland,’ according to the judges.  Olivia Duff, Failte Ireland Food Champion and Founder of the Boyne Valley Food Series was "delighted with the award.  This is a game changer for food in the region’ she said.  Read the full report in the Meath Chronicle:
