Guth Gafa is celebrating its 10th birthday 3-7 August with a bumper summer party of amazing film, mouth-watering food and live music in the glorious gardens of the 18th century Headfort House on the outskirts of Kells, Co Meath.
On site over the four days will be Kells-based Bits on Spits, Gourmet South African BBQ, specialising in barbecues and spit roast meats and using locally sourced meats, cooked over charcoal, oak and beech wood.
Viktorija from Jack’s Railway Bar and Restaurant in Kells will be running the wine bar in Headfort House where you can expect mouth-watering salads, soups and cold snacks washed down with delicious beverages.
The festival is delighted to welcome back Maurice from the Pure Coffee Company, near Oldcastle, and Emer from Navan with her delicious Bakealicious creations from Navan.
Our wine bar will offer Franciscan Well craft beer and fine wines. There will be soft drinks and ice-cream.
You can expect impromptu entertainment in our beautiful LPM Bohemian vintage festival marquee and live music on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Oh yes and there will be films!
Over 60 of the best and latest documentary films from 25 different countries around the world, including 32 Irish Premieres and one World Premiere, will be screened in five specially constructed cinemas over four days and the festival will welcome 35 filmmakers from as far afield as Australia, Canada and Siberia.
The programme includes agreat range of films for kids, teens and families.
And this year, the festival village will include a Virtual Reality Cinema to showcase some of the latest documentary films in VR technology, a first for any Irish film festival. The programme is live on Guth Gafa www.guthgafa.com.
