Le Cheile Arts & Music Festival

Headliners announced for Le Chéile Festival 2016

As you're most likely aware of by now, Le Cheile Festival runs every year over the August bank holiday weekend. This year we're changing things up slightly and running a full program all the way from Thursday July 28th to Monday August 1st.

Kicking off on opening night we'll be doing something very different, Le Cheile is all about reaching as many people as possible and with that in mind we're bringing one of Irelands biggest country music stars, Robert Mizzell and the Country Kings to Oldcastle on Thursday July 28th. With support from TG4, "Glor Tire" finalist, Oldcastle's very own Noel Briody.

The Academic will be our headline act on Friday July 29th. Now, we knew this would be a popular choice but the reaction to this news on Facebook and Twitter has been absolutely astounding ! The Academic are destined for some huge stages and we're proud that we can be a part of their rising stardom.
And !... Travis Oaks will be there too to open the show on the night.

We finally did it !... Over the past few years, clashing schedules and geographical issues have prevented it... this year we got clever and got in early and its finally happening... The Strypes will play the Cinema Club Stage on Saturday July 30th. Support on the night will be yet another rising star Aine Cahill (Check out Aine's first appearance on the Ian Dempsey show on TodayFm).

Sunday July 31st... We couldn't not do it :-) ... Big Generator will be back !

And even after all that we still have more to tell you about ! (Just finalising some details before we can announce it)

Still to Come

...and thats just the headliners. Some of Irelands finest up and coming talent will be gracing the various stages around Oldcastle over the bank holiday weekend. Keep your eye on our Facebook page and on LeCheile.Com for details as they are released.

And theres more...

We've already signed up two separate drama productions, the Castle Film Club Festival will be there, childrens entertainment, poetry readings, debates & discussions, art installations, exhibitions and displays.... and a cram packed list of quirkiness and general wonderfulness filling the festival schedule :-)

On Sunday 31st July we'll be presenting the biggest family day that has ever been witnessed at a Le Cheile Festival. The Oldcastle Grand Prix (Cycling race) will be in full swing with upwards of 400 riders passing through the town; With live music on the streets throughout the day, childrens entertainers & more...
