Trim Haymaking Festival 2015 Results

The Haymaking Festival in Trim was a very successful & enjoyable event last Sunday despite heavy rain showers at 5.00am & 8.00am.during the preparations. The teams of horses & vintage tractors were in action by 1.00pm mowing & turning the hay & TG4 began filming the numerous characters & events for Guth an Phobail (next Sun. night).

Dan O’Hara’s Farm & the ‘old village’ areas were full of great displays of art, crafts etc.The dog ,goat & donkey shows brought enjoyment to young animal lovers. The big crowd puller events were the Play in the Hay, Donkey Derby Races, Roll in the Hay, Scythe Cutting & Sheaf Tossing Competitions.Music was provided by Tara Ceili Band,Matt Leavy, Mary O’Connor & the CCE Óg.

Great traditional food was served up at Martina’s Kitchen all day.

A special thanks to James McManus of Silverline Catering who filled the void left when the caterer originally booked informed the committee at a very late hour they could not be present.
Thanks to all our sonsors, patrons & voluntarily workers & media.
