Tourism Ireland’s latest promotion is under way in Australia right now – with some 1 million commuters seeing eye-catching billboard ads for Ireland in key locations in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The ads’s for Ireland’s Ancient East feature Dunmoe Castle.
Some 1.6 million Americans are seeing a brand new promotion for Ireland’s Ancient East, which includes Newgrange – on television each week in New York, Boston and Chicago.
Louth’s Irish Maritime Festival this week scooped the coveted “Fáilte Ireland Best Tourism Initiative” at the Local Government Management Awards. The announcement was made at a glittering award ceremony in Dublin on Saturday night.
The festival, now entering its fourth year, is hosted by Louth County Council and Drogheda Port Company. It brings together a host of sponsors, community groups, the arts and sporting organisations to stage a weekend spectacular on the River Boyne.
As part of the commemorations for the 1916 Easter Rising, there will be two interesting lectures in the Barbican Centre, William Street, Drogheda on Monday February 1st at 7.30pm
The TRIM AC 10 mile road race on Sunday 7 February. The race which will be contested over a fast flat circuit. Last years mens and womens winners set two of the fastest 10 mile times recorded in the country last year.
