The Boyne Valley was promoted at the following shows throughout 2013.
Belfast Holiday World, Belfast Golf Show, ITOA, Britain & Ireland Marketplace, Active Retirement Show, Meitheal, SITC Barcelona, Balmoral Show, Bloom in the Phoenix Park, Tattersalls Horse Trials, Ratoath, Dublin Horse Show RDS, the Over 55’s Show Dublin.
The Gathering has been a great success for the Boyne Valley with over 140 events taking place throughout the region. Meath County Council, The Gathering and IPB have funded 52 events this year with funding of €80,000 distributed to communities in every corner of the County.
So far, we can say that over of those 52 events have generated 1,100 overseas visitors directly to Meath for these Gathering events. When you consider that each overseas holidaymaker spends €100 per day, €110,000 has been spent in the local economy.
