Guth Gafa Appeal For Volunteers

The countdown is on to the opening of the 10th Guth Gafa International Film Festival at Headfort House, and volunteers are urgently needed to help make the magic happen.

Anyone over the age of 18, with time to spare is urged to contact  to sign up to help out over the duration or part of the duration of the festival which runs from Wednesday evening until Sunday.

Boyne Valley tourism operators meet Tourism Ireland board

The D Hotel in Drogheda was the venue for the July board meeting of Tourism Ireland. The board members took the opportunity to meet with local tourism operators prior to the meeting, to discuss the tourism season and the extensive promotional programme which Tourism Ireland is undertaking to highlight the Boyne Valley, Ireland’s Ancient East and the island of Ireland around the world this year.

Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival 2016

Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival, now in its 6th year, runs from 23rd - 25th September 2016.

The committee are working hard to bring another fantastic weekend of events to Dunshaughlin. Once again we plan on having a road closure from The Old Sales Yard to The Arch Bar on Saturday 24th September from 2pm.

Guth Gafa Celebrates 10th Birthday With Bumper Family Programme

Guth Gafa is celebrating its 10th birthday 3-7 August with a bumper summer party of amazing film, mouth-watering food and live music in the glorious gardens of  the 18th century Headfort House on the outskirts of Kells, Co Meath.

On site over the four days will be Kells-based Bits on Spits, Gourmet South African BBQ, specialising in barbecues and spit roast meats and using locally sourced meats, cooked over charcoal, oak and beech wood.

So that's it ... the ships have sailed out of Drogheda Port, gone but not forgotten.  

What takes a year to plan, five days to build and two days to run takes just a couple of hours to dismantle and disappear.  

And yet, the memory of the 2016 Irish Maritime Festival will loom large.  

Schools out and time for some thrills

The largest wooden inverted rollercoaster in Ireland is open every day at Tayto Park.  If you want to really treat the children, this is a great day out.  With added fun this Summer from Fossetts Circus, daily showings take place between 1.30pm and 4.00pm.  And if you haven’t yet ventured on the Rotator, don’t let this Summer pass by without trying it.
