Martry Mill

Martry Mill is one of the few working watermills in Ireland. The Tallon family have been producing stoneground wholemeal flour since 1859.

We supply bakeries, supermarkets and shops around Meath with our wholemeal flour and supply directly from the mill. We’re open for tours if you want to see the milling process and learn about the history of the building, the flour and the area.

How often do you get to step inside a 400-year-old building that is still fully functional? Martry Mill tours are a must see when visiting the Boyne Valley. On our tour you can hear anecdotes about old cures, restoration work and the importance of eels back in the day but most importantly you get the chance to see genuine wholemeal flour being stoneground in the traditional way; the way the Tallon family has been doing so since 1859. Whether you’re on a family day out, a school tour or a special interest group your imagination is guaranteed to be captured.
