Film: A Look at Louth

Animated Ajax Loader

Droichead Arts Centre in association with the IFI Irish Film Archive are delighted to celebrate Heritage Week 2018 with two screenings of this unique film which features a host of stories made in and about Louth from 1897 to more recent times.

Showtimes: 2pm and 8pm

Cost: €3 | over 55’s free

If you were fortunate enough to catch this remarkable piece of local history when it was previously screened in May as part of the Drogheda Arts Festival, you'll know that as well as some of the earliest flickering images of Drogheda taken from a moving train by the frères Lumières in 1897, it features a trove of archival treasures......but especially exciting is the inclusion of footage of the thrilling All Ireland Football Final from September 1957, between Cork and Louth - footage not included in the original screening.

National Heritage Week is coordinated by The Heritage Council.
