Walking Tours of Medieval Drogheda

Tours conducted by the staff of Drogheda Museum Millmount will recommence from 3rd May at 2 pm daily, Mondays to Fridays.

The tours start at The Tholsel and where the guides will speak about the foundation of the town and the history of the Tholsel before heading off with tales and information on Rosemary Lane, The Highlanes Gallery, The former Drogheda Grammar School, Whitworth Hall, Featherbed Lane, St Laurnces Gate, the Drogheda connection to the inventor of the submarine, famous residents of the William Street area, St John’s Home, St Peter’s Church of Ireland and Churchyard, Clarke’s Pub, Magdalene Tower, Millmount, Frank Thornton , the foundation of Dunnes Stores finishing up At St Peter’s Church and St Oliver Plunkett’s Shrine.

Cost is €5 for adults concessions for children and seniors.

Tours for groups of 10 or more can be booked to take place, all year round, at times to suit the group and with content to suit the group to make the tour longer if required.
