It won’t be long until the school holidays are upon us. If you have young children at home to entertain you will be searching for the best activities to keep them busy. Why not plan a trip to the Boyne Valley this summer and make some great memories with the entire family? As well as having lots of festivals and events to look forward to this summer in the Boyne Valley, there are plenty of things to do with the kids every day of the week! Here are just ten of them.
Tire them out for the day with a trip to Navan Adventure Centre. The entire family can get involved here with foot golf, crazy golf, pedal karts, an adventure playground and more. Choose from their Family Fun Package or their Adventure Package.
Get them on the water this Summer and discover the Boyne Blueway Trim. Boyne Valley activities offer kayaking tours, river tours and kayaking rental- as well as a great café to relax after your adventure on the Boyne.
A visit to Causey Farm is a magical family day out where imagination and freedom go hand in hand.
This year Causey Farm have extended their summer event and it now features an amazing new theme for the Willow Trail which will be Irish Foclóir stories. Listen to the myths and legends of Irish heroes’ including The Children of Lir, Fionn and the Salmon, Cú Chulainn & Oisín and Tír na nÓg to name but a few. Every holiday needs a trip to the circus, and you won’t be left disappointed in the Boyne Valley. You can catch Circus Gerbola's brand new 2022 show featuring the legendary Flying Trapeze, the astounding Globe of Death, as well as hilarious clowns, aerialists, contortionists and lots more, at various venues across the Boyne Valley this summer.
Spend a day of thrills and excitement at Funtasia Waterpark in Drogheda or their Funfair in Bettystown. As well as fun at the waterpark, enjoy bowling, jungle zone, 3D motion theatre, remote control trucks & boats, pool tables, video games and a casino!
Take a trip to the Irish Military War Museum and family park this summer and step back in time. Experience their unique exhibitions, discover costumes and props from TV and film, and have fun at the family park onsite. This is where adventure and education go hand in hand.
Spend a day with the animals at Newgrange Farm just outside Slane this summer. Meet the chicks, kittens, and rabbits. Milk the cows, feed the ducks and even take a tractor and trailer ride! You might even see the tooth fairy’s palace!
Not just for a rainy day, but any day that they need to burn off a bit of energy! Activities include indoor karting, bowling, virtual reality, and soft play! They also have outdoor laser tag and other activities as well as coffees and teas, hot lunch options and refreshments in the cafe. This could turn into a very competitive family day out.
No trip to the Boyne Valley is complete without a visit to Irelands only theme park! With over 100 attractions, Tayto Park has something to offer the entire family. From the youngest thrill seekers right up to the adventurous grandparents. New this summer is their Dino Dash- a dinosaur themed roller coaster!
If your kids are thrill seekers, then bring them to Whiteriver Karting this summer for a fun filled day out.
