Cllr Peter Caffrey is a local business owner from Oldcastle, Co. Meath with years of experience working in the furniture industry.
Peter was elected local councillor for the Oldcastle area in 2024 and is dedicated to improving local services & assisting residents and community groups in accessing appropriate local authority services. Peter is also a Director on the Boyne Valley Tourism board and has a huge interest in his local community and is involved in many projects promoting North Meath as a vibrant tourist attraction with Loughcrew and Fore Abbey on his doorstep. He is very aware of the huge impact socially & economically in which tourism contributes to this area.

Tadhg is the CEO of Tankardstown House & The Conyngham Arms Hotel.

Carina described herself as an eco-minded entrepreneur who since moving to Ireland has established a gold-certified ecotourism business www.rockfarmslane.ie with TripAdvisor Cert of Excellence 2016 - 2018

Sarah Dallas is the Sales Manager at Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa and has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. A senior sales and marketing professional, she has held multiple leadership roles and is known for generating new business and building long‑lasting client relationships. Sarah has strong expertise across the corporate, leisure and MICE sectors, supported by deep knowledge of sales, marketing, branding, budgeting and revenue management. With a positive attitude, adaptability and a collaborative approach, she brings valuable commercial insight and a genuine passion for the industry to the Boyne Valley Tourism board.

Cllr. Duffy was co-opted to Meath County Council in April 2025, succeeding Senator Linda Nelson Murray after her election to Seanad Éireann. Previously, he served on Navan Town Council (2004–2009). Originally from Mayo, he moved to Meath in 1973 to attend Warrenstown Agricultural College, later studying at UCC and working with An Foras Taluntais (Teagasc) and the Irish Sugar Company (Greencore). In 2007, he co-founded Terrachem Ltd, an agri-distribution business, retiring in March 2025 after 18 years. Married to Kay, they have three adult children and have lived in Navan for 38 years.

Cllr Padraig Fitzsimons has been a prominent figure in Navan's political landscape, serving as Mayor for three terms.
His family has a deeprooted political history in Navan, spanning over 90 years. He has been involved in various community projects and has expressed his commitment to continue serving Navan and its surrounding areas. Fitzsimons' election marks a continuation of the Fitzsimons name in local governance, with a focus on community engagement and development.

Nicola Flanagan is a wellness entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in sales, marketing, and business development. She has held senior sales and marketing roles in luxury retail with McDowells Jewellers and Weir & Sons and is Founder of Wellness at The Coach House. A native of Navan and Kells, Nicola brings her corporate expertise and passion for holistic well-being to the board, supporting Discover Boyne Valley in promoting the region’s heritage, culture, and visitor experiences.

Michael is an established business owner with over 30 years’ experience in both the food services and property services industries. He opened his first restaurant, The Loft in Navan, Co. Meath in 1995, followed with his wife Tara by The Ground Floor in Kells in 1998 and The Sidedoor in Co. Cavan in 2001. They opened The Central in Navan & Bective Restaurant in Kells in 2012. He previously served for many years on the Meath Board of Tourism and set up and chaired the Meath Good Food Circle in 1997. Alongside his hospitality experience, Michael works as an estate agent and valuer, specialising in the sale and letting of commercial property.

Carol is a Local Councillor who was elected to Meath County Council in June 2024. Carol represents the coastal district of Laytown Bettystown. Prior to local Politics she qualified as a Barrister and still practices law in the Courts of Ireland. Throughout her life, her first port of call has always been to provide care to her five young adults who have additional needs. Carol is also a Director on the Boyne Valley Tourism board and has a huge interest in her local community, making many attempts to enhance the 20km of coastline and engage residents and visitors alike in experiencing the many amenities available for their use. She is very aware of the huge impact socially & economically that tourism contributes to this area.

Dara McGowan serves as a Director of Services in Meath County Council with responsibility for Economic Development, Rural Regeneration and EU Affairs.
The role focuses on making County Meath economically vibrant and sustainable, enabling citizens and businesses to thrive, and promoting the region nationally and internationally as one of the world’s leading experiential destinations.

Paul O'Rourke is a Meath County Councillor for the Trim Municipal District, committed to supporting the growth and vibrancy of the Boyne Valley region. With a strong focus on community development and local wellbeing, Paul works to enhance public amenities, strengthen rural infrastructure, and promote the area’s unique cultural and historical assets. As AgeWell Programme manager with Third Age he brings a people-centered approach to every project, ensuring residents and visitors alike benefit from high-quality services and welcoming spaces. Passionate about showcasing Meath’s heritage and natural beauty, he is dedicated to helping the Boyne Valley continue to thrive.

Eiméar has a passion for the Irish tourism industry, inspired by her childhood family holiday experiences. After completing a degree in tourism marketing, she gained valuable industry experience working in the dynamic marketing department at Dublin Tourism. From here, along with her husband Brendan, she entered the local retail sector twenty years ago, establishing their family-owned service station, Doughtys Wilkinstown. Eiméar has since co-founded and developed Park Beo Greenway Hub in 2023, an innovative amenity that supports and enhances the visitor experience to the Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway. Eiméar is excited to work with the board in promoting the Boyne Valley region.

Gene Smith is a member of the Nobber Heritage Centre committee.

June is the owner of Hideaway at Foxhollow self catering farmhouse accommodation in Fordstown Navan Co Meath open all year, since 2013 .
She was previously employed as a nurse before working for Aer Lingus as cabin crew for 13 years on their transatlantic route . She is also the director of a family retail business in Navan Co Meath .
