The Blue Jean Country Queen Festival is back this June Bank Holiday Weekend in Athboy.
The 2026 Blue Jean Country Queen Festival takes place in Athboy, Co. Meath from Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31, 2026. Organized by Meath Macra na Feirme, this June Bank Holiday weekend staple features live music, family fun, and the crowning of the 2026 Country Queen.
- Main Event: The search for the Blue Jean Country Queen involves over 20 participating "Queens", with public interviews hosted by RTÉ's Maura Fay in St. James Hall on Saturday, May 30.

The Blue Jean Country Queen Festival organized by Meath Macra na Feirme in collaboration with the local community. Established in 1987, the festival mixes community and family focused events with live entertainment which all takes place alongside the Blue Jean Country Queen competition – a fun and not too serious personality competition, in which over 20 young women from all over Ireland and abroad vie to become the Blue Jean Country Queen.
