AMPLIFY present a curated screening event Not Another Queer Cinema Club. On Friday June 19th queer cult classic But I'm a Cheerleader (1999) will be presented by Venus Patel. The screening will begin at 7pm, and will be followed by a discussion with the artist.
Not Another Queer Cinema Club is a queer collective with a goal of fostering community through art and film. Founded by Highlanes AMPLIFY Young Creatives Group (18-30 years), whose mission is to facilitate social screenings to connect the queer community with contemporary artists.
AMPLIFY is excited to collaborate with artist Venus Patel on this special evening event.

Enjoy some screen-free family time with Nela Hadija as families explore and create from the exhibition, To Land: Living Roots Awaken!
Explore your creativity with Nela and join her for a morning of viewing and discussing the artworks on display from the Crawford Gallery Collection. Children will be actively engaged with the multitude of art on display, using their senses to express themselves creatively to print with items from nature.
Booking is only €6 per Family Group (Parent(s) + Children).
All materials will be supplied and we advise 5 minutes before the official start time of 11:30am.

For generations, the works of Gabriele Ricciardelli have occupied a quiet, significant, place within the town's cultural history, and though known to many there still remains a question largely unexplored: Who commissioned them and why?
Community historian Brendan Matthews shares his ongoing research of these paintings origins, from not only the web of kinship that have but how linked they were to several of the most powerful families of the period.
The session is €6 per person, booking is required

21st June & 5th July Prepare Your Young Creatives Entry With artists Sadbh de Buitléir-Kearney & James Moonan

Having announced our first Young Creatives Art Competition, closing date Sunday 12th July, we invite children to attend a 'studio-session' and informal creative environment within the gallery where children can continue working on an artwork already begun at home, or start anew.
If you enjoy illustration and love to create, these fun and supportive workshop sessions are the perfect place to make art, make friends, and bring your imaginations to life.
Join us with emerging artist/creatives, Sadbh de Buitléir-Kearney & James Moonan on Sunday 21st June & 5th July as they will be on hand to offer advice and guidance.

8th August - 31st October - Young Creatives Art Competition
Calling all young creatives!
To continue the gallery's 20th anniversary celebrations we annouce a brand-new initiative – an art competition and exhibition for children 18 years and under. The competition celebrates imagination, originality and innovation and highlights the creative voices of children and young people of all abilities.
Developed with Highlanes Gallery’s IGNITE (12-18 yrs) and AMPLIFY (18-30 yrs) young persons’ panels, the competition focuses on themes of identity and the environment under the title - Me, my place, our world, and uniquely this competition will be adjudicated by individuals from the panels.
Highlanes 20: Young Creatives Art Competition has categories for entry from Category A: Under 6 Years, Category B: 7-10 Years, Category C: 11-14 Years and Category D: 15-18 Years, with an Additional Needs section in each of the four categories.
The competition is open to original artwork from children across the island of Ireland, no larger than A3 portrait or landscape format size in a range of media from pencil, paint, collage and mixed-media, and stop-motion/ moving image work, no longer than 20 seconds. Each entry must be delivered by hand or post, and must be accompanied by a completed Application Form attached to the rear of the artwork. The closing date for entries is Sunday 12th July at 2pm. The prize giving ceremony and exhibition opening will take place on Friday 7th August, and the exhibition will open to the public from Saturday 8th August until Saturday 31st October.
