THE NATIONAL FAMINE WAY REMEMBRANCE WALK 2026

THE NATIONAL FAMINE WAY REMEMBRANCE WALK 2026

The Remembrance Walk takes place from 16th–24th May. 8 walking days, retracing the 165km route taken in 1847 by 1,490 emigrants from Strokestown to Dublin.

Planning Your Walk

Participants may take part independently or with a tour operator.

Accommodation is available along the route, though not always directly on the trail, so planning ahead is important. For this reason, we strongly recommend travelling with a tour operator, who can arrange accommodation, luggage transfers and daily logistics.
