A trip to the Boyne Valley is filled with so much choice on where to go and what to do. To fit in all the attractions and must-see sites, you really need to plan a few trips. The County Town of Meath is Navan and this is the perfect base for a long weekend or mid-week break to the Boyne Valley. The town itself also boasts many attractions and activities, so you can park up the car and enjoy! Here is your Navan bucket list this summer! 


Boyne Ramparts Walk
Boyne Ramparts Walk
One of the most scenic walks in Ireland. The Boyne Ramparts walk takes you on a path along the River Boyne and Boyne Canal passing Babe’s Bridge, Rowleys Lock, Dunmoe Castle and more. Look out for the Kingfisher, Heron, and of course the many ducks along the way. Find out more here.


Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway

Near completion, the Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway will be a continuous off-road path from Navan in County Meath to Kingscourt in County Cavan. You can now take advantage of the completed section from Navan to Wilkinstown. Bring your bike or your walking shoes and enjoy this 8km stretch through beautiful countryside. Find out more here.

Enjoy a day at the races on you trip to Navan. Race meetings are held once a month at the course and it has a fully licensed bar and restaurant. Take a self-guided walking trail around the town and discover the Navan Points of Pride and the Navan Sculpture trail on your trip. Navan points of pride walk showcases the best of Navan’s heritage, with reference to the town’s rich historical past and more recent developments. It is a celebration of the people, the architecture, and the culture of Navan. The trail is 4km’s long and takes approx. 2 hours. Find out more here.
