Boyne Valley Tourism has launched its 2022 campaign alongside the release of a new suite of videos ‘Where the Adventure begins’ .  The three videos will take you on an adventure through the oldest and most historical landscape in Ireland with holiday inspiration for families and couples. After two years of lockdowns, 2022 is the year to begin your new adventure by visiting the Boyne Valley

Michele Whelan, Tourism Officer for Boyne Valley said: “Whether you’re planning on staying for one night or several nights in the Boyne Valley, a great adventure awaits.  We’ve some great new videos to highlight all you can experience in the Boyne Valley in 2022 available on YouTube and www.discoverboynevalley.ie. There is plenty to see and do in 2022 from breath-taking landscapes to rolling countryside and waterways. The Boyne Valley was also named as one of the ‘World’s Best Food Destinations’ so you won’t be short of great places to get a bite to eat.”


“This summer will also see the much-loved Causey Ice Cream Adventure return, tours of Slane Castle, Loughcrew Wildlife month in February and racing at Navan, Fairyhouse, Bellewstown and the Laytown Strand. Moynalty Country Music Festival takes place on the 26th June featuring Mike Denver and Nathan Carter. There are also exciting things planned for the coming years. The Boyne Valley to Lakelands County Greenway is currently in development and will result in a 30km walkers' and cyclists' paradise along the route of the old railway line. The route also includes the recently completed looped section at Nobber and another at Castletown Kilpatrick.”

There is nothing quite like fresh country air to help you unwind. Take a trip to the town of Trim and enjoy a walk around Trim Castle.  You can also experience Trim Castle River Walk. This tranquil river walk commences at Trim Castle and finishes at the ruins of the 13th century town of Newtown, providing a glimpse of life in Trim in the Middle Ages.
