Boyne Valley Members win big at several awards in 2022!

Its award season in the tourism and hospitality industry and we are delighted to see so many of our members being recognised for all of their hard work and for putting the Boyne Valley region on the map. Over the past few months, award ceremonies have included the Pride of Place Awards, The Meath Business and Tourism Awards and the Northeast Business Excellence Awards. The Following members of Boyne Valley Tourism were celebrated!
 
 

Pride of Place awards


James Griffin Pub 

The James Griffin Pub
Congratulations to the James Griffin Pub for winning “Best Shop Front” and best in “Hospitality & Tourism” at the Trim Municipal District Pride of Place awards. This lively pub is based on High Street in Trim and is open Thursday to Sunday.


Scurlogstown Olympiad 
Congratulations to the team at Scurlogstown Olympiad on winning ‘Community Age Friendly Initiative’ and ‘Best Bee Friendly Front Garden’ in the Trim Municipal District Pride of Place awards. The team here are responsible for many events including the annual Trim Haymaking Festival.


The Lime Kiln Gastrobar 

The Lime Kiln
Congratulations to The Lime Kiln in Julianstown for winning best in “Hospitality & Tourism” at the Laytown Pride of Place awards. This gastropub, bar and pantry shop promote local food and drinks as well as their local area.


Killeen Castle Golf Club 
Congratulations to the team at Killeen Castle Golf Club for winning best in “Hospitality & Tourism” at the Ratoath Pride of Place awards. 


Bee-Wise 

Beewise Nature Trail
Paddy and his family picked up the well-deserved award for 'Climate Action Small Project' and 'Action for Pollinators'! This nature trail really is a must visit for 2023.

Moynalty Steam Threshing

Moynalty Steam Threshing Museum
 The team at Moynalty Steam Threshing won best in ‘Heritage’ at the Kells Pride of Place awards and won the overall prize in the Meath Pride of Place awards. Congratulations to all involved. 


Headfort Arms Hotel 
The Headfort arms Hotel took home the award for best in “Hospitality and Tourism” at the Kells Pride of Place awards and won the overall award for Meath. Another great accolade for this hard-working team.
 
The Donkey Shed Restaurant

The Donkey Shed at Newbarn Farm
In the Ashbourne Pride of Place awards, The Donkey Shed Restaurant picked up the award for best in “Hospitality & Tourism”. Congratulations to the entire team here too! 


Meath Business and Tourism Awards

Scurlogstown Olympiad 
Another award for Scurlogstown Olympiad with the award for best in Sustainable tourism at the Meath Business and Tourism award. Congratulations to all the team and thank you for all you do for tourism in the region.


Custom Irish Tours

Congratulations to Derek and all the team at Custom Irish Tours for winning the Small Tourism Business award at the years Meath Business and Tourism Awards. Derek has been promoting the Boyne Valley and taking visitors around our region for many years.


Bective Tea Rooms
Congratulations to all the team at Bective Tea rooms on their award for best emerging new business at the Meath Business and Tourism awards. The popular new tea rooms just opened this year outside Trim and are a fabulous edition to our tourism offering.

Another great award for Killeen Castle at the Meath Business and Tourism Awards where they picked up the gong for best tourism experience. As well as that, they also picked up the award for best overall Tourism Business on the night. Congratulations to all the team here.


Northeast Business Excellence Awards

Big congratulations to all the team at Tribe Restaurant in Dulleek on their win at the Northeast Business Excellence awards. On the night they picked up the awards for Family Business of the year and Emerging Business of the Year!


Boann Distillery

The famous Boann Distillery were also successful at the Northeast Business Excellence awards and they picked up the award for Green Excellence and Sustainability.


Scholars Townhouse Hotel
Congratulations to Scholars Townhouse Hotel who were also successful at the Northeast Business Excellence awards in City North Hotel.
