August 1981 saw the first concert at Slane Castle, and since then acts like U2, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, David Bowie, Queen and REM have all performed in Slane in the Boyne Valley.
