DROGHEDA MUSEUM and Martello Tower are located on the great fort that towers over the town of Drogheda, County Louth, on an ancient hill overlooking the historic river Boyne. It is the gateway to the Boyne Valley, an area rich in heritage dating back over 9,000 years, while the town itself is over 800 years old.

Established in 1989, Droichead Arts Centre is a multi-disciplinary centre in the heart of Drogheda Town, providing an extensive curated arts and cultural programme of theatre, music, film, visual arts, opera, dance, comedy, literature, family/children, outreach. The Centre is housed over two buildings: Stockwell Street, which hosts a modern 169-seater theatre and a bright contemporary visual arts gallery, and Barlow House, an 18th century Georgian style townhouse.

Forest Walk - Balrath Wood

Balrath can be enjoyed throughout the year. However, the ideal time to visit Balrath is in late summer/early autumn when there are plenty of leaves and some fruits/nuts on the trees, some wildflowers still in bloom and also some insect life to be seen. Spring and summer are also good times, especially to see woodland wildflowers in their natural habitat.

Laytown and Bettystown, a traditional links with undulating fairways, riveted bunkers and fast greens, is situated on the south bank of the River Boyne in the seaside village of Bettystown, with views of the Cooley and Mourne mountains.

The course was first played in the 1880s but the club was not formally in the existence until 1909. The course has produced some of Ireland's best golfers, notably Ryder Cup golfers - Des Smyth and Philip Walton. Top class amateurs include Declan Brannigan and John McGinn. In 2004, the Leinster open Seniors Competition was hosted here.

The Laytown Races occupy a unique position in the Irish racing calendar, as Ireland’s only horse racing event run on a beach under the Rules of Racing.

The Flat racing event takes place once a year, every September, on the County Meath strand, on a straight, almost level course. Races are confined to six and seven furlong distances.

The committee led by current Chairman Joe Collins, oversees the organisation of the yearly race meeting alongside manager Kevin Coleman.

The Barbican is a multi-purpose hall which acts as a cultural beat in the heart of the town of Drogheda. It is used by both the public, private and community sectors to host a range of events including shows, classes, photography exhibitions, public meetings, training etc.
