April, in particular, heralds a time of renewal and discovery, offering visitors a diverse array of experiences to cherish.

Fairyhouse Easter Festival

The last day of the Fairyhouse Easter Festival takes place on Monday the 1st of April!

The BoyleSports Irish Grand National has become a stalwart at the heart of the Irish sporting calendar, a raceday which should be included on your bucket list.

This is a race which encapsulates everything that is great about Irish racing and attracts crowds from all over Ireland to celebrate the epitome of Jump racing.

The Irish Golf Show will take place on Friday the 5th and Saturday the 6th April.

Derek Warfield and The Young Wolfe Tones will be raising the roof for one night only at The Darnley Lodge Hotel on Friday April 26th.

Derek and the lads are one of Ireland’s best traditional ballad bands who deliver traditional music and folk songs with great energy and skill with hits including “Óró sé do Bheatha Bhaile” and “The Spanish Lady” to name but a few.

Drogheda Classical Music Concerts

Drogheda Classical Music Concerts finish out the 23/24 season with Vanbrugh and friends on the 19th of April in St Peters Church of Ireland in Drogheda. The Vanbrugh Quartet are joined by Marja Gaynor and Ed Creedon in a glorious programme of rich and sonorous chamber works by Boccherini, Beethoven and Dvořák. The Wilkinstown Farmers Market opens on the 1st Saturday of the month at the new Wilkinstown Community Centre building. It will take place on Saturday the 6th of April. Hoor- An exhibition of poetry and illustration takes place in Kells Courthouse Tourism and Cultural hub until the 31st of May. Featuring the work of Belfast poet Jim McElroy, winner of the MCC Cultural Services Francis Ledwidge Poetry Award 2020 and winner of the International Book and Pamphlet award 2021, and Kells born, Berlin based illustrator Ann Kiernan, Moira Gemmill Illustrator of the Year 2020 and AI40 selected winner 2021.  Come to the International Baseball Centre in Ashbourne, Co. Meath to watch two exciting games on April 6! At 11, watch the Giants play national champions, Mariners Baseball. This is a heated rivalry as they’ve met in 3 of the 4 past league finals. At 14:30, watch the Titans take on the Vikings. These two teams are young and talented and the future of baseball in Ireland. Professional tour guide and actor, Fiona Dalton brings the local Goddess of Samhain alive in an original living history tour of the heritage town of Athboy with a two hour guided walk around the sights to see and stories to hear as well as learning about her own legend from Celtic Mythology.
