Francis Ledwidge Museum & War Memorial Centre

The poet Francis Ledwidge was born in Slane on 19th August 1887. The museum is open 7 days 10.00am - 1.00pm & 2.00pm - 5.00pm and is situated 1 mile from the village of Slane on the Drogheda Road.

Tours can be booked in advance and there are special rates for schools and teachers.

I saw her coming through the flowery grass

Highlanes Municipal Art Gallery, is one of Ireland's most important visual art spaces.

Highlanes Municipal Art Gallery, which opened in 2006, is one of Ireland's most important visual art spaces. Serving the North East region, it presents a programme of national and international temporary exhibitions, as well as exhibitions drawn from the Drogheda Municipal Art Collection, a fascinating collection dating from the mid-18th century.

Public Artworks in the Boyne Valley

 

Meath County Council's Art Collection is an ever-evolving body of work with pieces dating from 1955 to today. There are over 170 pieces of sculpture, paintings, prints, and photography in the collection.

The collection is housed in offices, libraries and roadsides across Meath. Look out for the following pieces of sculpture on your travels throughout the Boyne Valley.

Toradh Gallery

Based at Ashbourne Library & Cultural Centre, the Toradh Gallery has welcomed a host of engaging visual art exhibitions and accompanying educational programmes featuring works by local, national and international artists, along with workshops, artist’s talks and demonstrations. 


Meath County Council Arts Office operates 2 visual art gallery spaces in County Meath; the Toradh Gallery in Ashbourne and the Toradh 2 Gallery in Kells. These spaces combined host the Meath County Council Toradh Art Programme.
