The Zone Activity Centre

No matter what the weather, a visit to The Zone Activity Centre is always a great day out.

Enjoy indoor karting, bowling, virtual reality, Laser Maze and soft play!

They also have outdoor laser tag when the weather is behaving.

Pay a visit to Boyne Valley wools just beside Brú na Boinne.

Alison will tell you all about her hand-spun wool from her Jacob sheep, and you might be lucky enough to get a demonstration also.  


Visit Killua Castle

Visit the fully restored Killua Castle just outside Kells in the Boyne Valley.

The Castle was once the home of The Chapman family and is now dedicated to expressing and sharing history, art, environmental conservation, regenerative farming, and gastronomy. Guided tours are available.

Our land is rich in all the ingredients you need to create the perfect drink and our distilleries are the perfect place to visit and explore on a rainy day.

Take a trip to Loughcrew Megalithic Centre

If it’s too wet to climb the hill at Loughcrew then why not pay a visit to the Megalithic centre while you are here.

At Loughcrew Megalithic centre visitors will find Nelly’s Kitchen Café, Maggie Heaney’s Cottage and Benny’s Workshop.

Maggie Heaney’s Cottage is a 1700’s heritage museum located in the courtyard of the centre.

Here, visitors can get a feel for what life was like in a traditional Irish cottage.

Inside the visitor will get to see antique furniture from times gone by, an audio visual from a past inhabitant explaining life growing up in this cottage and information about the Loughcrew Cairns and the legend of the Cailleach (Witch).

Take a guided historical tour of Slane Castle which will give you an opportunity to learn about the Conyngham Family, the history of the building and all about the concerts that have been held at the venue over the years.

The tour duration is 45mins and is a perfect activity to keep you out of the rain.
